Empowering lives through compassionate dementia Day Programs

Our Story

At The Tulip Place, we believe in creating meaningful, joyful days for people living with dementia while supporting their care partners with respite and peace of mind. Founded by Laila Stamer, a Dementia Certified Practitioner with over 25 years of experience, our day program is rooted in compassion, innovation, and a commitment to enhancing quality of life.

Laila’s passion for dementia care began 27 years ago in Amsterdam, where she worked with a pioneering professor at the University of Amsterdam who opened the world’s first dementia day center. The transformative impact of that program—bringing purpose, connection, and happiness to individuals and their families—inspired Laila’s lifelong mission. After moving to Georgia from the Netherlands, she noticed a gap in local services for those living at home or in independent and assisted living communities. Determined to fill this need, Laila founded The Tulip Place in Milton, Georgia, to offer a unique day program that supports aging in place and fosters vibrant, fulfilling days.
